Reno Police Training With U.S. Marines

Starting today the Reno Police Department SWAT team will be training with U.S. Marines and sailors from the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit from Camp Pendleton California, in the Reno area. The purpose of the joint training exercise is to help enhance the safety and skills of the U.S. Marines and sailors in actual urban environments. With the experience the Reno Police Department SWAT team has in building searches and response to critical incidents in urban areas like Reno, they will be providing the Marines and sailors with valuable training, that will help enhance the soldiers capabilities and safety when deployed overseas. This training will also give the Reno Police SWAT team the opportunity to learn and hone their skills from the expertise of the Marines they will be training beside.
