Gov. Brian Sandoval and the Nevada Department of Veterans Services named Reno’s Veterans Guest House as the “Veteran Supporter of the Month.” The award was given at a ceremony at the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City.  The Guest House is a “Home Away from Home” for  veterans and their families. The only facility of its kind in the country that provides temporary, overnight lodging for veterans and family members while they are undergoing medical treatment in the Reno-Sparks area.  Last year, they served about 5,400 visitors.
