Senator Dean Heller Wants Another Solution Besides Yucca Mountain

Senator Dean Heller is pushing house republicans to partner with him to find a viable approach to dealing with the nations nuclear waste. He continues to fight back against a push to license Yucca Mountain Nevada as a high level nuclear waste storage facility. He says the solution is not forcing that burden on Nevada, a state that has never had a nuclear power plant. Hearing are scheduled Wednesday in the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee. Congressman Ruben Kiheun, and Congresswoman Jacky Rosen are expected to testify at those hearings. Heller told the chairman of the committee, we can’t move forward until congress moves past Yucca.
