Gov Sandoval Meets With EPA, Energy Sec in D.C.

Governor Brian Sandoval released a statement after his meeting with Energy Secretary Rick Perry in Washington, DC. Wednesday. He says while he and the  Secretary disagree on Yucca Mountain, he’s grateful that he has always welcomed an open dialogue and strong relationship between the State of Nevada and Department of Energy. But he added “Nevada will continue to oppose the storage of high-level nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain at every turn, but the Governor says he’s confident that we can also work with our federal partners to develop relationships with our universities, expand a stronger mission at the Security Site, and improve cyber defense for the benefit of our state. The Governor also met with the EPA administrator to talk about restrictive mining rules, and called that meeting , “Fantastic.”
