Sen. Dean Heller strongly criticized Congressman John Shimkus’ draft nuclear waste storage legislation, the subject of a hearing set for today. Heller urged the House Energy and Commerce subcommittee chairman to work with him on a different approach. Heller says he is highly concerned the proposed legislation would not only significantly harm the state of Nevada but would infringe upon states’ rights concerning air and water permitting authority.
