Governor Sandoval is expressing a different interpretation of the controversy between the Attorney General and the head of the Gaming Control Board. He’s not ready to back Laxalt’s claim that the concern about  AG’s  interveneing on behalf of a political donor with Gaming Control, is nothing more than a “Political attack.” Pointing out in an interview that Laxalt has admitted the secret meeting happened with Gaming Control Board Chairman A.G. Burnett. Pressure for the meeting concerned Burnett so much he recorded it.  Some of Laxalt’s supporters have called Burnett a “Rogue Regulator,” but the Governor says he has a lot of respect for Burnett, who worked with him when he was Attorney General. Sandoval appointed him to the gaming board. The Governor told reporters a a bill signing ceremony,  he’s waiting to “Listen to the dialogue.” Laxalt denies any wrongdoing.
