Reaction From NV’s U.S. Senators After Passage of the Nuclear Waste Policy Act

Both of Nevada’s U.S. Senators are reacting to the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Environment passage of the Nuclear Waste Policy Act, that designates Yucca Mountain as the country’s nuclear waste repository. Senator Dean Heller says he will continue to lead the fight in Congress to see that Nevada doesn’t turn into the nation’s nuclear waste dump. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto calls it deeply disappointing that her colleagues on the Hill continue to ignore the concerns and requests of the very people who would be directly impacted by this legislation.
