GOP congressman Mark Amodei is working with Democrat Dina Titus on a bill that would allow states to authorize studies of medical marijuana, and a second bill that would allow states to regulate marijuana in the ssame way they regulate alcohol. Titus is also pressuring House Speaker Paul Ryan to include a ban on federal prosecutions for marijuana is states that have legalized it, as part of the final 2017 spending bills. Amodei told the Las Vegas Review Journal, it’s time for Congress to get off its butt and start dealing with these issues.
