Suspect Killed in Officer-Involved Shooting Identified

The man killed Wednesday in an officer-involved shooting in Sparks has been identified as 27-year-old Humberto Vera-Munoz. It happened just after 10 O’clock in the 1100 block of 15th Street. Sparks Police say the officer was attempted to make a traffic stop when Vera-Munoz fled the vehicle. He was fired upon by two officers. Details about what sparked the gunfire have not been released.
