Health Officials in Nevada Making Plans to Create State-Based Enrollment System

State health officials say Nevada will save money when it ditches the federally run HealthCare.gov enrollment system in 2019, for a state-based website. Nevada Health Link received approval last week to use $1 million from a reserve account of the Nevada’s Silver State Health Insurance Exchange to make the website transition. Exchange executive director Heather Korbulic says the cost of running the new website is expected to be about half of the more than $4 million the state paid to the federal government to use its enrollment system. The website will be developed and tested site for a year before it’s implemented in November 2019.
