Local Robotics Team Wins in State Competition

An all-girls robotics team made up of 11- to 14-year olds won the top award at the FIRST Tech Challenge Nevada High School Championship in Reno, and will represent the state at the West Super-Regional in Spokane, Washington in March. The Sonic Screwdrivers , a homeschooled team from Reno, faced off against high school teams from across the state and won the “Inspire Award” at the state championship and was part of the winning alliance in the robot game, captained by Team Fantom from Carson City who are also advancing.
