A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a car near the intersection of South Virginia Street and Sierra Center Parkway last night. Around 8:30 p.m. a vehicle was traveling north on South Virginia Street and struck a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway. Reno police say the man was pushing a shopping cart full of cans. The driver is cooperating with officers. It is unclear if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash. Police say they are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident.
