Two Accused of Smuggling Meth Into Prison Plead Guilty

Two people have admitted trying to smuggle methamphetamine into Northern Nevada Correctional Center. 53-year-old Lemuelu Sauni pleaded guilty to one count of trafficking in a controlled substance, and 52-year-old Nanette Ilaei Pea pleaded guilty to one count of attempted furnishing of a controlled substance to a state prisoner. Investigators say Sauni, an inmate, made arrangements to have Pea, an approved visitor, bring him methamphetamine during visiting hours at Northern Nevada Correctional Center last year. Investigators intercepted Pea at the facility’s visitor processing area and found she was carrying a bag containing about seven grams of methamphetamine.
