Baily’s Pond in Carson City’s Fuji Park will reopen Friday. It was closed due to an icky slime on the water that was reported late January. As a precautionary measure the pond was closed for water quality testing. The slime material in the water was from iron bacteria. It’s not a threat to human health, but is is often mistaken for petroleum sheens.
