The Nevada Highway Patrol has released information about a crash that killed a man Monday night, on State Route 208, in Lyon County. The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a Ford F-350 pickup was traveling west, A Yerington Police officer was trying to pull him over, using lights and siren. Just outside the Yerington city limit, he drove to the right, hitting the front of a guardrail, then continued westbound and drove off the right side of the road. The pickup then hit several trees along the right side of the highway, and came to rest partially across the westbound travel lane. The driver, 57-year-old Patrick Wood of Yerington, was pronounced dead at the scene.
