Two Carson City Men Face Serious Drug Charges

Two men are facing several drug-related charges following their arrest in Carson City Monday. Deputies pulled over 23-year-old Joel Rodriguez in the downtown area for a moving violation. During the traffic stop, deputies found nearly seven pounds of marijuana and $3,600 in cash, and arrested Rodriguez. Deputies executed a search warrant for an apartment in the 800 block of South Roop Street where they found 40 more pounds of marijuana, 20 grams of cocaine, a small amount of ecstasy, packaging equipment for drug sales, an AK47, a Glock handgun, 700 rounds of ammo and two butane tanks. The Sheriff’s Office says the back door to the apartment was about 30 feet from a playground. A second man, 30-year-old Ruben Pacheco, was arrested at the apartment.
