Funds Coming to Cover Costs of Oct 1 Shooting

After getting additional funding to help defray the costs incurred by law enforcement in Nevada following the October 1st shooting, Senator Dean Heller announced that the Department of Justice is providing the state of Nevada with $2,000,100.00, the full amount that the state requested to cover Nevada law enforcement’s shortfall. The Department of Justice (DOJ) previously provided a $1 million emergency grant for Las Vegas that Heller requested immediately following the shooting, but the additional funding is necessary because Nevada law enforcement’s overtime costs related to the tragedy far exceeded that amount.
