Housing Project Approved by The Reno Planning Commission

A proposed development that would bring 4,700 housing units to southeast Reno, is one step closer to reality after the Reno Planning Commission approved both the master plan and zoning map amendment. California developer, Newport Pacific Land Company, wants to build single family homes and multi-family units within 15 years near the Southeast Connector. Opponents of the project say the development would impact the surrounding community as there would be a loss of critical flood plains. The project will now head to the Reno city council.
