Elko arrests five in heroin, meth drug bust

Elko, Nev. – On August 09, 2018, the Elko Combined Narcotics Unit (ECNU) concluded a month-long investigation into the sales and trafficking of heroin in the Elko area with the arrest of five individuals for various narcotic related charges.

ECNU Detectives, with the assistance of the Elko Police Department and the Elko County Sheriff’s Office, executed a residential search warrant in Elko, Nevada. Detectives recovered a total of 119.31 grams of heroin, 21.49 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and one stolen firearm during the search warrant.

Defendant Brianna Luna of Reno was booked on trafficking of a controlled substance, heroin, trafficking of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance for sale and Conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act. Additionally, Luna is being held on a Nevada Parole and Probation violation. Luna’s bail is set at $411,280.00.

Defendant Sandra Smith of Elko was booked on trafficking a controlled substance, heroin, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of the uniform controlled substance act, child endangerment and maintaining place to sale/use. Sandra Smith’s bail is set at $140,700.00.

Defendant Stanley Smith of Elko was booked on possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a controlled substance, heroin, and possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, child endangerment, trafficking a controlled substance, heroin, maintaining place to sale/use and conspiracy to violate the uniformed controlled substance act. Stanley Smith’s bail is set at $160,700.00.

Defendant Zachary Murphy of Elko was arrested on six counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and an outstanding no bail arrest warrant.

Defendant Eduardo Marin of Elko was arrested on three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail is set at $1920.00.
