After four decades, the cattle drive is back and bigger than ever this weekend on the Comstock. Help usher in the Virginia City rodeo on Saturday at high noon when a herd of Texas longhorns hit the road, traveling down Virginia City’s main street, and marking the first time in 40 years since they’ve made an appearance. The cattle drive makes it’s way to the Virginia City Arena & Fairgrounds for the 1 p.m. start of the Virginia City Rodeo, presented in collaboration with Cotton Rosser and the Flying U Rodeo company. The on Sunday, check out the Comstock’s newest event, the Fiesta del Charro, a Mexican rodeo complete with bull fighting, trick roping, dancing horses and a focus on Hispanic heritage.
