Man Found Guilty Of Drug Trafficking

The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office has announced that a man has been found guilty of drug trafficking after a four day jury trial in District Court.

43-year-old Brice James Daniels has been found guilty of two counts of Trafficking a Controlled Substance

The trial began on Monday and involved criminal charges that stemmed from an incident  on March 12, 2018. Daniels was arrested by the joint Reno and Sparks Police Departments’ Crime Suppression Unit (CSU) during an undercover drug-buy operation. He was arrested for the sale of an ounce of methamphetamine and a quarter ounce of heroin.

Following the arrest, the District Attorney’s office filed formal criminal charges against
Daniels and the case proceeded to trial. Based on his lengthy criminal history, the office filed notice of intent to seek habitual criminal status for sentencing purposes.

Sentencing is set for December 17, 2018 where Daniels faces the possibility of
life without the possibility of parole.
