Darin Balaam is the new sheriff in Washoe County, winning the seat over Heidi Howe a retired captain. Balaam, who has worked for 21 years with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, talks about one of his biggest priorities in the coming years.

During his career, Balaam worked as Assistant Sheriff, as well as all three divisions of the Sheriff’s Office: Operations, Detention, and Administration.
