Vandals Damage The Battle Born Memorial in Carson City

Three days after the Battle Born Memorial was dedicated to Nevadans killed in war, four youths vandalized the granite next to it by riding razor scooters and bicycles over it. Security cameras captured the incident. Capitol Police have identified four possible suspects, but say the investigation continues. Gov. Brian Sandoval dedicated the memorial on November 9th, it honors 895 Nevadans killed in wars dating back to the Civil War. It is behind the State Archives and Library Building on the Capitol Grounds in Carson City. It cost an estimated $450,000 to build. Veterans Services had no estimate on how much it would cost to repair it.
