Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Two Homicides

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 56-year-old Gardnerville woman. Connie Koontz was killed on James Road in the Gardnerville Ranchos the night of Wednesday or early Thursday. Police say they don’t know who the killer is and that the person “remains a threat to the community.” They are asking people to lock doors and windows and report any suspicious activity immediately.

The Sheriff’s Office has now opened a second death investigation in the area. This one at 943 Dresslerville Road could be related to the death on James Road. The sheriff’s office will increase patrols in the area. Dresslerville Road remains closed for the investigation. People who live on Dresslerville Road will be admitted if they have identification. A press conference will be held today at 9am.
