Gun Law Safety Group Gives Nevada a “D”

Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence released the latest “Gun Law Scorecard,” and gave Nevada a “D.” This 50-state analysis shows fewer people die from gun violence in states with strong gun laws. Despite the tragic mass shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada hasn’t enacted any significant gun laws in 2018. After the state passed universal background checks by ballot initiative in 2016, it failed to properly implement or enforce this law, contributing to its D grade. State lawmakers are expected to discuss an updated background check law next week.
