One man is dead and another is injured following a shooting that happened Saturday evening in Tahoe City. The Placer County Sheriff’s office says 33 year old Octavio Villa Villanueva was shot in the mall parking lot and died at a nearby hospital. It happened shortly before 5 p.m. on Saturday in the parking lot of the Boatworks Mall at 760 N. Lake Blvd. Deputies say both men were shot while they were inside of a car in the parking lot of the mall. No information is being released regarding the shooter, as deputies say the information is in its preliminary stages.
