County Paves The Way For a New High School at Wildcreek Golf Course

The Washoe County Commission has approved the Washoe County School District’s plan to build a high school at Wildcreek Golf Course. The decision was unanimous at a commission meeting Tuesday. Commissioners approved the agreement to transfer a portion of the golf course to the district, which will pay about $5 million for the transfer. The land will be used to build a high school that will replace the aging Hug High School campus. The new school will be designed to be large enough to relieve overcrowding at Spanish Springs High School.
