Fallon Doctor Raided by The Drug Enforcement Administration

The Drug Enforcement Administration served a search warrant Thursday to a Fallon doctor suspected of over-prescribing opioids. DEA agents raided the office of Dr. Gary Ridenour, an internist who was told by Walmart last year that the chain’s pharmacies would not fill his prescriptions for controlled substances. His office is closed until further notice. This is part of a three-state DEA sweep including about 70 warrants being served; the sweep is called the “Hypocritic Oath.” Agents in Nevada served five search warrants, and seized $35,000 and nine guns. Seven people in Nevada had their authority to write prescriptions suspended. DEA has not released the names of the other doctors targeted.
