Carson City Parks And Recreation Will Begin Demolition at Ross Gold Park

Carson City Parks and Recreation will begin demolition on the existing playground and picnic shelter at Ross Gold Park the week of March 25th. The playground is over 25 years old and does not meet current playground safety guidelines. These two areas will be fenced off during the demolition work and the public is being asked to avoid these areas during this time. As part of the City’s efforts to reinvest in aging parks infrastructure, the City acquired more than $261,000 from the Land and Water Conservation Fund and nearly $92,000 from the Community Development Block Grant program for improvements to Ross Gold Park. Match for the grants came from Residential Construction Tax. This project will replace the existing playground with a new universally accessible playground and make ADA access improvements to the asphalt parking lot.
