Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a body was found Wednesday afternoon in a field between Interstate 80 and Main Street in Fernley. The body was found in a field behind the Jackson’s Food Store at 210 U.S. 40. The man had no property or identification. He’s described as black and in his 30s or 40s with short hair and a mustache. There is no information on how long he had been there and the cause and manner of death are under investigation.
