Gun Control Groups Coming After “Rogue Sheriffs” in Nevada

A national gun control organization claims the National Rifle Association is behind Nevada’s “Second Amendment sanctuary” drive. The Brady Campaign President Kris Brown says these Nevada county commissions and sheriffs have gone rogue and are endangering public safety by declaring they won’t enforce strict background checks. They’re asking for disclosure of all documents related to the movement, under the Freedom of Information Act. The Brady group says lobbying and campaigning are very different than telling law enforcement not to enforce laws. Don Turner, head of the pro-gun Nevada Firearms Coalition, said he supports the counties and sheriffs for balking at laws “that infringe on U.S. and Nevada constitutions.”
