Convicted Killer Dies in Northern Nevada Correctional Center

A Reno man sentenced to life for murdering a man in 1994 has died while serving his sentence. 64-year-old Robert Buff died in the Hospice Unit of Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City.  Buff and Louis Pacheco robbed and killed John Coleman in Reno during an argument about the merits of Caucasians versus Native Americans. While one man put the victim in a headlock, the other slit Coleman’s throat. Pacheco remains in state prison.
