Governor Signs Bill Increasing Nevada’s Renewable Energy Standards

Governor Steve Sisolak was joined by the bills author, Senator Chris Brooks and other supporters, as he signed Senate Bill 358, which increases Nevada’s renewable portfolio standard to 50 percent by 2030. The Governor calls it an important step toward a cleaner more sustainable future. Doug Cannon, NV Energy president and CEO says his company has been vocal about their goal of providing customers with 100 percent renewable energy, and this is an important next step in accomplishing that. Nevada ranks fourth in solar and second in geothermal energy. Approval of the bill was unanimous in the legislature.
