Reno City Council Gives The Green Light to New Non-Gaming Hotel and Sports Tourism Center

The Reno City Council has greenlighted a plan to convert the old CitiCenter Plaza bus station in downtown Reno into a non-gaming hotel and sports tourism center. Besides building the hotel on East 4th street, they’d put money into the Reno Bowling Stadium to make it a multi-use facility, and upgrade the Reno Events Center. Possible uses include indoor soccer, basketball and volleyball tournaments, or an ice rink. P3 Partners says it has up to $60 million to put into the project and construction could begin by the end of the year.
