Bill Would Restore Voting Rights to Felons in Nevada

Not everyone is on board with a bill that immediately restores voting rights to Nevada felons, and goes even further. It allows people convicted of a crime, who are not in prison yet, to vote. AB 431 passed the senate 13-8, and the Assembly 32-9. Republicans were united in opposition, and say this is too forgiving of people imprisoned for violent felonies. The Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizaro argues that restoring voting rights encourages people to be a part of society again, rather that continue to be criminals.
