Beware of Solar Energy Scams

A recent resurgence for solar energy has state Contractors Board advising residents to be wary of fraud. At the moment, 40% of the agencies fraud cases are solar related, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal. Many of the unlicensed companies collect down payments on “Too good to be true” installations, then leave the state without following through. Ask for ID cards from anyone who purports to be a contractor before making any payments, and watch out for those you use high pressure tactics, and get at least three bids on any solar project you’re considering.
