Arizona Man Sentenced to Prison for DUI Death

An Arizona man has been sentenced to prison for a DUI crash that killed a woman in Sparks in 2017. 67-year-old Linda Hutchcroft of Reno died in the three-vehicle crash in the area of McCarran Boulevard and Pyramid Way in April 2017. NHP says 26-year-old Clinton Godac was driving a Nissan Frontier the wrong direction on McCarran, westbound in the eastbound lane, approaching Pyramid. Head on, he hit a Mercury Sable traveling east on McCarran, then also hit a Ford Aerostar van, also headed east. All three drivers were hospitalized, as well as one passenger in the Aerostar. Hutchcroft was driving the Aerostar. The Sable driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Godac was released from the hospital and then booked into the Washoe County jail for Felony DUI causing death. He was sentenced to 20 years prison on the DUI charge, with parole possible after five years. He was also sentenced to 264 days in the Washoe County jail on a related Battery on a Protected Person charge.
