New Nevada Laws Target Those Who Sexually Abuse Children

Nevada Attorney General Aaron D. Ford commended Governor Sisolak for signing two bills aimed at helping keep Nevada families safe. SB-7 increases penalties for those convicted of soliciting children for sex. SB-8 adds conditions of lifetime supervision for those convicted of the most heinous sex offenses, such as child molestation. Both bills passed through the Legislature with strong, bipartisan support. Attorney General Ford says, “Every child in Nevada deserves to be safe from harm. The Office of the Attorney General sponsored both bills. SB-7 also expands statutory authority for law enforcement to conduct undercover operations against those seeking to solicit children.
