Nevada Highway Patrol Looking For Witnesses to Fatal Crash on U.S. 50

The Nevada Highway Patrol is looking for witnesses to a head-on crash Thursday on U.S. 50 near the south side of Lake Tahoe that killed a Carson City driver. The NHP said 37-year-old Hugo Parra-Solis died as a result of the 7a.m. crash on U.S. 50 near Elks Point Road in the Glenbrook area. So far the NHP investigation shows the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup going east on U.S. 50 east of Elks Point Road when he crossed the center line and into oncoming traffic. He hit a Chevrolet Silverado pickup towing a utility trailer going west on U.S. 50. The day of the crash, NHP reported the driver of the Ford, Jerrad Rodriguez, was arrested for DUI and booked into the Douglas County jail. Any witnesses are asked to contact the NHP.
