The Reno Police Department and SWAT found a man who apparently died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside a home in the 1100 block of Sageberry Court Monday night. The home he was in was surrounded after he allegedly hit his father in the head with a crowbar. Lt. William Rulla says the man’s mother called police around 4:30 p.m. Monday from inside the home. She said her 28-year-old son got into a fight with his father and assaulted him. Police say the father drove himself to the hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The home was surrounded by SWAT for several hours last night, because the man was not responding to attempts to contact him.
