The Future of 4th Street Will be in Neon

A project to turn West Fourth Street into the “Neon Line District’ has begun. Two years ago, the owners of the Gold Dust West–Jacobs Entertainment–bought the Sands Regency and started making changes. That included buying whole blocks of property and demolishing dilapidated structures. With $100 million spent, and 20 city blocks, Jacobs Entertainment has room to build. The plan is, in five to seven years, there will be another hotel, 2,000 units of housing, retail, restaurants, wide sidewalks and lots of art.
