Hot August Nights has once again rolled through the City, bringing thousands of people together to enjoy classic cars and rock-n-roll. The Reno Police Department increased staffing during the event to ensure the safety and security of the community and the event participants. Overall, the event was a continued success, and very safe. This year the Reno Police Department made nine felony arrests, 15 misdemeanors and one gross misdemeanor. They issued 2 misdemeanor citations and 31 misdemeanor traffic citations. Of the felony arrests, six were for possession of a controlled substance, two were on warrants and one was for child endangerment. The Gross Misdemeanor was for destruction of property. 4 arrests were for solicitation for prostitution and three for DUI.
