Some Washoe County Schools Will Offer Free Breakfast & Lunch Regardless of Income

The Washoe County School District plan is to offer free breakfasts and free lunches to all students at 39 schools, regardless of their family income. This is possible because of the Community Eligibility Provision, a program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).  Under the program, schools in high-poverty areas will offer breakfast and lunch to all students at no charge, and without processing school meal applications. So that means less paperwork and fewer lines for food.
