“Hot Prowl Burglar” Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison

A convicted “Hot Prowl Burglar”, 27 year old Nicholas James Stockwell, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison. Stockwell pleaded guilty in May to three counts of Burglary and must serve a minimum of 12 years in prison before parole eligibility begins. Stockwell was a suspect in numerous burglaries and several involved entering homes when people were asleep inside, last November and December. Stockwell stole jewelry, bank cards, financial paperwork, car keys, computer equipment and prescription medication. The Washoe County District Attorney’s Office continues to work with the Northern Nevada Repeat Offender Program and focus on the investigation and prosecution of habitual offenders.
