A woman is dead after a crash on US 395 in Inyo county. It happened just before 6 p.m. Sunday near the town of Independence. CHP says the crash happened when an SUV was going the wrong way and collided with a pickup truck. The crash also resulted in a semi-truck jack-knifing to avoid the crash. The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital where she later died. The driver of the pickup is being treated for serious injuries.
