Truckee Meadows Fire Celebrating Two New Engines

The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District is celebrating the acquisition of two new engines. They did this by pushing the new trucks into the station by hand. That’s a throwback to the early horse drawn fire wagons, that had to be pushed back into the station by hand. The engines cost $640,000 each, but they are replacing two older engines, and have more room and specialized equipment. One is being assigned to Truckee Meadows Fire Station 32 in east Washoe Lake, the other at Station 40 in Verdi.
