Reno Crews Knock Down a Pair of Wildfires Thursday

The Reno Fire Department had two fires Thursday afternoon that started minutes apart. The first was at 4:21 p.m. at Airway Drive and Peckham Lane in southeast Reno near the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. One outbuilding was threatened but not damaged and crews kept the fire to a quarter of an acre. At 4:32 p.m. a fire started near Clear Acre Lane and Scottsdale Road in northeast Reno. Homes were threatened in that fire, but crews stopped it at a half acre. The causes of both fires is under investigation.
