Nevada Schools Are Improving According to Performance Report

Governor Steve Sisolak highlighted the release of the Nevada School Performance Framework (NPSF) showing that 184 schools statewide increased their Star Rating since last year. Hillside Elementary in Storey County also improved it’s rating by three stars. In WCSD, among schools in need of improvement (“Acceleration Schools”) the number of one-star schools was halved—from 12 schools to six schools. Twenty-five schools improved their star classifications, while 14 schools decreased their star rankings. Four elementary schools improved by two stars in the past year: Donner Springs, Florence Drake, Spanish Springs, and Roger Corbett elementary schools made exceptional progress in the 2018-2019 school year.  Governor Sisolak says, “Nevada schools have seen their share of challenges over the years, but I’m so proud to see results that show we are taking positive steps in the right direction – and our teachers deserve a lot of credit.”
