Suspected Serial Killer Pleads Not Guilty to Northern Nevada Murder

Charles Gary Sullivan entered a “Not Guilty” plea in Washoe District Court in a 40-year-old case. He is charged with the 1979 murder of Julia Woodward. She was last seen at the San Francisco airport for a flight to Reno, her body was found two months later in a remote canyon in Hungry Valley. Grand jury testimony in Washoe County reveals that DNA taken from him during an investigation into Nevada County, California abduction was used to link him to Julia Woodward’s murder. Sullivan was arrested just weeks ago at his home in Arizona. He was brought to Reno last Friday and booked into Washoe County Jail on a grand jury indictment.
