Washoe County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a burglary suspect afternoon, as the suspect was attempting to enter a south Reno residence where a juvenile was home alone. At about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, an undercover detective was patrolling East Huffaker Lane when he saw a man, who appeared to be looking for potential burglary opportunities. At one point, detectives saw the suspect was about to enter a home on Offenhauser Drive. Detectives detained 26 year old Mitchell Griffith and contacted the homeowner. The homeowner said that Griffith had actually entered the home illegally two days prior, but had been chased off. Griffith is a possible suspect in other burglaries.
